Eldridge Estate of Red Hill

Eldridge Estate has long been considered a totemic producer thanks to the tireless work of its founders David Lloyd and his late wife, Wendy. The commitment to both quality and experimentation here was matched only by a commitment to both their local winemaking community and to Australian wine itself. The estate was sold in '22. The fact that Steve Flamsteed (of Giant Steps fame) has been engaged as consultant winemaker can be taken as a sign that the new owners are astute, and that ultimate quality remains the focus. -CAMPBELL MATTINSON
