Dewey Station Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

This micro-business (beginning with 135 dozen) has grown, but it's hard to say how much is still in the tank. Winemaker Stefan Dewey has covered a lot of ground since 2007, all within the Barossa Valley. He worked in retail, distribution and marketing (enrolling in the wine marketing course at the University of Adelaide) before taking the ultimate step of beginning to make wine. He and wife Eleanor share a conviction that wine should be shared with friends and lots of laughter. Boring, it should not be. But there has to be a limit, and I’ll declare my hand by saying the label designs and production names will only ever gain niche market shares. But, of course, if you establish that niche, demand drawing supply, the game changes. Exports to the UK, Japan and South Korea. -JAMES HALLIDAY
