Our Review
Brothers Kym and John Davey planted and nurture their family-owned and sustainably managed vineyard on land purchased by their grandfather in the 1950s. Shingleback has been a success story since its establishment. Its 120ha of estate vineyards are one of the keys to that success, which includes winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2006 for the ’05 D Block Cabernet Sauvignon. The well-made wines are rich and full-flavoured, but not overripe (and hence, not excessively alcoholic). Exports to NZ, Canada, the US, the UK, China, Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam. -JAMES HALLIDAY
