In a cost-of-living crisis, finding value is more important than ever. Below, we're highlighting three wines that have achieved the Halliday Wine Companion value rosette.
The value rosette is awarded to wines considered to offer special value for money within the context of its score, and can apply at any price point. Although, at $30 or less, two of the following wines are great value by any measure.
We hope this helps you find a new favourite to enjoy with family and friends.
2024 Heirloom Vineyards The Velvet Fog Pinot Noir, Adelaide Hills
Wild fermented; bottled without filtering or fining. A really interesting and pleasing flavour profile that leans into bitter cherry, amaro-like characters, juniper, pepper, thyme – and we have a ripper of a pinot noir that goes savoury and structured. Very fresh feeling, too. The name would suggest something more loose-knit and easygoing, this is serious architecture and savouriness instead. And great for it. A distinct pinot noir that may polarise some for its herbal lean and veins of minerally tannin, but it is compelling. – Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points
Winemaker Alexandra Haselich says: This wine comes from the Adelaide Hills’ finest vineyards in Kersbrook and Macclesfield, hand tended and crafted with care to showcase pure, precise fruit. Silky, layered and beautifully balanced, it delivers cherries, strawberry and subtle herbal complexity with a refined, lingering finish. It's pinot noir that feels luxurious without demanding the price.

2025 Sidewood Estate Pinot Gris, Adelaide Hills
A classic and impressive example of pinot gris. A varietally persuasive nose of white florals and spice with plenty of pear, crystallised ginger and lemon curd. Such a smart wine; a portion of the fruit was wild fermented in large format French oak, for the promise of texture and intrigue. Swills of stone fruit, white nectarine and peach, together with a blanched almond nuttiness. The spiced pear and the texture shine true and pure. A whole and intentional expression of gris. – Katrina Butler, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points
Winemaker Dylan Lee says: A vibrant, unfailingly delicious pinot gris that impresses every time. Bursting with pear, rosewater and ginger, plus nectarine and quince on the palate, it offers impressive depth and subtle nuttiness. Classic Estate quality at an unbeatable price.

2025 Skillogalee Estate Estate Riesling, Clare Valley
This is a belter. Tangy citrus, Pink Lady apples, sizzling cumquat, pink grapefruit zestiness, a flourish of lavender florals, jasmine tea and talc-like mineral charm. It zips along the palate yet holds a lithe grip and chew in texture. It finishes with a flourish of general minerality, spice, herbal notes and super-refreshing citrus fruit. There's so much packed in here, and in its quintessential nature, shows off Clare at its best. – Mike Bennie, Halliday Wine Companion, 95 points
Winemaker Kerri Thompson says: A classic Clare Valley riesling defined by purity and drive. Grown on elevated estate vineyards, it shows clarity of fruit, fine acidity and balance, offering immediate drinking pleasure with the structure to develop over time, particularly at its price point.
