Ambra

South Australia | Adelaide

Our Review

South Australia’s Ambra is a producer of limoncello and other liqueurs based on traditional Italian recipes brought to Australia by founder Libero De Luca’s family. De Luca was a well-known restaurateur in Adelaide in the 1980s before creating his brand in '98, making Ambra one of Australia’s longest-running limoncello producers. Over the years, Ambra has grown to include a range of Italian-style liqueurs, sourcing fruit from growers in the nearby regions of the Riverland and Adelaide Hills. In 2023, Ambra opened a new distillery, bar and function venue in Thebarton, South Australia to the public. The space is both a production site and a place for visitors to experience its products through tastings, cocktails and Italian-inspired food by walk-in or booking during opening hours Wednesday to Sunday, as well as functions, events, masterclasses and distillery tours with distiller Nathan Iovino by appointment. -FRED SIGGINS
