Sirromet Wines

Queensland | Granite Belt

Our Review

What was once an ambitious venture is today Qld’s largest winery. The founding Morris family commissioned a leading architect to design the state-of-the-art winery, the state’s best viticultural consultant to plant 3 major vineyards (in the Granite Belt) and skilled winemaker, Adam Chapman, to make the wine. It also has a 200-seat restaurant firmly aimed at the tourist market, taking full advantage of its location between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. In recent years, the focus has shifted to emerging varieties such as vermentino, fiano, pecorino, montepulciano and aglianico in an attempt to mitigate the warmer temperatures and lower rainfall of climate change. Jessica Ferguson has overseen the winemaking since ’21. -TYSON STELZER
