Basedow Wines

South Australia | Barossa Valley

Our Review

Peter, Michael and Richard Basedow are the three Brothers Basedow (B3, as they call themselves), fifth-generation Barossans with distinguished forefathers. Grandfather Oscar Basedow established the Basedow winery in 1896, while Martin Basedow established Roseworthy Agricultural College. As well as retaining consultant winemaker Rob Gibson, the brothers constructed a winery in the old Vine Vale Primary School property in 2008, using the schoolrooms as a cellar door. In '14 B3 Wines purchased the Basedow brand from James Estate, restoring continuity of ownership, and in November '15 the wheel turned full circle when they purchased the old family winery. Exports to the UK, Canada, Denmark, Korea, Thailand, Singapore and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
