Finniss River Vineyard

South Australia | Currency Creek

Our Review

The Hickinbotham family established several great vineyards, the last of these being that of Finniss River in ‘99. The planting mix was good, dominated by 31.3ha of shiraz and 20.9ha of cabernet sauvignon. Between then and February ‘15, when Adam and Lauren Parkinson purchased the vineyard, all the grapes were sold, which brought Adam – during his time as general manager of a winery in McLaren Vale, as well as general manager of one of Australia’s largest vineyard management companies – into contact with the family and its grapes. Grape sales will remain for the foreseeable future, but the cellar door is the outlet for local sales. Exports to the US and Singapore. -JAMES HALLIDAY
