Grandeur Wellington

South Australia | McLaren Vale

Our Review

Australian winemaking company with over 20 years experience based in McLaren Vale. Backed by Chinese investors and thus far primarily focused on the Chinese market, they are apparently starting to produce wines for local consumption too. Exports to Hong Kong and Vietnam. -JAMES HALLIDAY

Our 1500sqm modern winery was built in 2015 on 30 acres of prime vineyard land at Blewitt Springs, we have 500sqm underground storage which keeps everything at a constant temperature, we are currently licenced for 450 ton and enjoy 50-year-old dry grown Grenache and shiraz on our property. We aim for Premium fruit and use small batch fermentations, keeping every parcel separate until the very end, after 18 months of oak aging, frequent tastings, and grading, we will blend the parcels to make our varietals. With over 30 years’ experience in the district, we have a good knowledge on the different types of soils and vine clone used by our contract growers. Its what we leave out that makes the difference.

Shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, grenache

Cellar Door

Winery tours are quite popular, we run through the whole process, from receiving to fermenting then the barrel store, the highlight is tasting young and older wines from tank and barrel. It gives our tasters a real appreciation on how much work is needed to produce a good drop. Minimum persons over 10.
