Our Review
Inspired by the eponymous essay on Japanese aesthetics by Jun'ichirō Tanizaki, In Praise of Shadows wines are about an immediacy, pleasure and the embrace of what lies in front of our eyes, rather than that which has fallen to the wayside of the past. In essence, Ikigai, or our reason for being. The wines, fine-boned, energetic and floral, are Mediterranean-accented, befitting McLaren Vale and the elevated reaches of Blewitt Springs and Clarendon, from whence much of the fruit is sourced. An emphasis is placed on organic material and a less-is-more approach, without it being a mantra. -NED GOODWIN MW
