Pare Wines

Pare Wines is a collaborative project born of the friendship between winemaker Ansel Ashby and wine merchant Andrew Williams. Hailing from Colorado, Ansel was intent on using his Bachelor of Arts in creative writing as a foundation for pursuing wine journalism. That led to vintages in Martinborough, the Adelaide Hills, the Great Southern, and at Soter in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The label's foundation centres on a long-held belief in the primacy of single sites that are ideally suited to variety, then to make the wines in a gentle way, coaxing and framing, and never intruding. -MARCUS ELLIS
