Montara

Victoria | Grampians

Our Review

Montara gained considerable attention for its pinot noirs during the 1980s and continues to produce wines of distinctive style under the ownership of no less than 6 siblings of the Stapleton family. As I (James) can attest from several visits over the years, the view from the cellar door is one of the best in the Grampians region. Simon Fennell, with an extensive winemaking history, including assistant winemaker at Best’s Wines, and with direct knowledge of the Grampians region, has replaced long-serving winemaker Leigh Clarnette. Exports to the US, Canada, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. -JAMES HALLIDAY
