Our Review
Philip (a chef and hotelier) and Christine Challen began the establishment of their vineyard in 1986 with the planting of 0.5ha of cabernet sauvignon. Several years later, 2ha of chardonnay (and a few vines of pinot noir) followed. Vineyard practice and soil management are based on organic principles; there are low yields, notwithstanding the age of the vines. -JAMES HALLIDAY
