Coward & Black Vineyards

Patrick Coward and Martin Black have been friends since they were 5 years old. They acquired a property directly opposite Ashbrook and on the same road as Vasse Felix, and began the slow establishment of a dry-grown vineyard; a 2nd block followed 5 years later. In all there are 2.5ha each of cabernet sauvignon and shiraz, and 1.5ha each of chardonnay, semillon and sauvignon blanc. The cellar door is integrated with another of their businesses, The Margaret River Providore, which sells produce from their organic garden and olive grove. -JAMES HALLIDAY
